Position: Anganwadi Worker and Anganwadi Helper

Salary: These are honorary service posts under the ICDS scheme. The notification does not state an honorarium figure – the rate is fixed by the Government of Karnataka.

Vacancies

232 vacancies across the four Child Development Project areas of Yadgir district – 61 Anganwadi Worker posts and 171 Anganwadi Helper posts. Shahapura has 12 Worker and 58 Helper posts, Surapura 24 and 58, Yadgir 16 and 30, and Gurumathkal 9 and 25. Eligibility

Only women and transgender-minority women candidates are eligible. Anganwadi Worker – the candidate must have passed at least P.U.C., and must have studied Kannada as a first or second language in S.S.L.C. Anganwadi Helper – the candidate must have passed at least S.S.L.C. or an equivalent class. Candidates who passed S.S.L.C. through the Karnataka State Open School must have taken Kannada as a first or second language, and their marks card must carry between 219 and 625 marks to be considered. Candidates who studied outside Karnataka are considered only where the maximum and minimum marks match the Karnataka scheme. Residency matters – for a rural centre the candidate must reside in that revenue village, and a residence certificate from the Tahsildar or Deputy Tahsildar covering three years must be attached. A DSERT-recognised ECCE Diploma, a JOC or NIT course, a Home Science certificate course, or one year of nursery or pre-primary training earns first preference and 5 bonus marks. Widows, acid-attack survivors and residents of state women’s homes of at least three years receive 10 bonus marks, and candidates with a disability not exceeding 40 per cent receive 5 bonus marks.

Age Limit

The candidate must be between 19 and 35 years of age. Candidates with disabilities get a relaxation of 10 years in the upper age limit.

Applications are accepted ONLINE ONLY, through the link in the notification on the Yadgir district administration website or the Zilla Panchayat Yadgir website. The notification states explicitly that applications submitted by any other route will not be accepted or considered. All required documents must be scanned and uploaded with the online application – documents submitted afterwards are not considered. Attach the birth certificate or S.S.L.C. marks card showing date of birth, the marks card for the prescribed qualification, a residence certificate from the Tahsildar or Deputy Tahsildar issued within the last three years, a caste certificate from the Tahsildar, and for widows the husband’s death certificate and widow certificate (a widow-pension confirmation is not accepted in its place).
