78 posts in the Uttara Kannada District Judiciary – 13 Process Server and 65 Peon. The 13 Process Server posts are distributed as General Merit 6, SC (Category-A) 1, Category-I 1, Category-2A 3 and the remainder across the other reserved groups, with 3 unreserved, 5 for women, 2 for rural candidates, 1 for a candidate with a benchmark disability, 1 for ex-servicemen and 1 for Kannada-medium candidates. The 65 Peon posts are distributed as General Merit 32, SC (Category-A) 4, Category-I 3, Category-2A 10, Category-2B 3, Category-3A 2 and Category-3B 3, with 15 unreserved, 22 for women, 17 for rural candidates, 4 for candidates with benchmark disabilities, 4 for ex-servicemen, 1 Kannada-medium, 1 project-displaced and 1 transgender post. Eligibility

Process Server – a pass in the S.S.L.C. examination or an equivalent qualification. Candidates holding a heavy or light motor vehicle driving licence (HMV/LMV) are given preference. Peon – a pass in the S.S.L.C. examination or an equivalent qualification, and the candidate must be able to read and write Kannada. Selection is made under the Karnataka Subordinate Courts (Clerical and other posts) (Recruitment) Rules. Process Server candidates are called for interview in a 1:25 ratio and Peon candidates in a 1:10 ratio, shortlisted on the percentage of marks obtained in the S.S.L.C. examination; the interview carries 10 marks.

Age Limit

The candidate must have completed 18 years of age as on the last date fixed for submitting applications. The maximum age is 40 years for General Merit, 43 years for Category-2A, 2B, 3A and 3B, and 45 years for Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Category-1. Further relaxations apply under Rule 6(2) of the Karnataka Civil Services (General Recruitment) Rules, 1977, and Government Order No. CASUE 262 SENENI 2025 dated 29.01.2026 grants an additional one-time relaxation in the maximum age limit.

Application Fee

Rs. 300 for General Merit candidates and Rs. 150 for candidates of Category-2A, 2B, 3A and 3B. Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Category-1 candidates and candidates with a benchmark disability are exempt from the fee. The fee is paid by State Bank of India challan and the last date to pay it is 17 September 2026, up to 11:59 PM.

Note that the fee-payment window closes a day later, on 17 September 2026 – that later date applies only to paying the fee for an application already submitted, and is not an extension of the application deadline. Candidates claiming a reservation or an age relaxation must hold the relevant certificate from the competent authority, and must produce the original S.S.L.C. marks card at document verification.
