Vacancies

13 posts of Peon in the Chamarajanagar District Judiciary, to be filled by direct recruitment. The notification breaks the 13 posts down by reservation category, covering Scheduled Caste (Women), General Merit (Kannada Medium), Category-II(A) including a Women seat, other General Merit seats, and one post under Category-8 reserved for a candidate with a visual disability. Where a post reserved for a candidate with the notified disability is not filled for want of a suitable candidate, the notification provides for it to be handled under the Government order governing disability reservation.

Eligibility

The candidate must have passed the S.S.L.C. examination conducted by the Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board, or hold an equivalent qualification. The candidate must also be able to read and write Kannada. Selection includes a test covering Kannada reading and writing along with general knowledge. Candidates selected serve a probation period of 2 years under the applicable rules, and the select list is published in accordance with Karnataka State Gazette Notification No. LAW 01 LAC 2005, Bengaluru, dated 13.02.2008, Rule 5(4) and (vi).

Age Limit

The candidate must have completed a minimum of 18 years of age and must not exceed the maximum age, both reckoned as on the last date fixed for receiving applications. The upper age limit is 35 years for General Merit, 38 years for Categories 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B, and 40 years for Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Category-1. In addition, Government Order No. CASUE 262 SEDO 2025 dated 29.01.2026 grants a one-time relaxation of 5 years in the maximum age limit for candidates of all categories participating in selection processes notified after the date of that order, up to 31.12.2027. Further relaxations apply for ex-servicemen, full-time NCC instructors and village group inspectors, each measured against the number of years served.

Application Fee

Rs. 200 for candidates belonging to General Merit and Categories 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B. Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Category-1, and candidates with disabilities, are exempt from the fee. The fee must be paid online only, through the link on the court website, using Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card or UPI. Payment by challan, demand draft or postal order is not accepted.
