Alternatively, a candidate who has passed a Diploma in Commercial Practice or Secretarial Practice, including typewriting in either Kannada or English, must additionally pass the Junior Grade typewriting examination of the Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board in the remaining language. Candidates must also pass a computer literacy test. The Junior Grade typewriting requirement makes this the lowest typing bar of the four Chamarajanagar notifications issued on 27 July 2026; the Typist post issued the same day requires Senior Grade.

The candidate must have completed a minimum of 18 years of age and must not exceed the maximum age, both reckoned as on the last date fixed for receiving applications. The upper age limit is 35 years for General Merit, 38 years for Categories 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B, and 40 years for Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Category-1. In addition, Government Order No. CASUE 262 SEDO 2025 dated 29.01.2026 grants a one-time relaxation of 5 years in the maximum age limit for candidates of all categories, applicable to selection processes notified after that order and up to 31.12.2027. Further relaxations apply for ex-servicemen, full-time NCC instructors and candidates already serving in State Government or local authority posts.
