Vacancies

2 posts of Stenographer Grade-III in the Chamarajanagar District Judiciary. Read this one carefully before applying: both posts are backlog vacancies and both are reserved for candidates with disabilities — one under Scheduled Caste (Persons with Disability) and one under Category-2A (Persons with Disability). This is not an open recruitment, and a candidate who does not fall in one of those two reservation groups is not eligible against these vacancies. Where a post reserved for a candidate with the notified disability is not filled for want of a suitable candidate, the notification provides for it to be handled under the Government order governing disability reservation.

Eligibility

The candidate must have passed Second P.U.C., or any equivalent three-year diploma course or equivalent examination, AND must have passed the Senior Grade examination in typewriting and shorthand in both Kannada and English conducted by the Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board. Alternatively, a candidate who has passed a Diploma in Commercial Practice or Secretarial Practice, including shorthand and typewriting in either Kannada or English, must additionally pass the Senior Grade examination of the Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board in the remaining language. Candidates must also pass a computer literacy test.

Age Limit

The candidate must have completed a minimum of 18 years of age and must not exceed the maximum age, both reckoned as on the last date fixed for receiving applications. The upper age limit is 35 years for General Merit, 38 years for Categories 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B, and 40 years for Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Category-1. In addition, Government Order No. CASUE 262 SEDO 2025 dated 29.01.2026 grants a one-time relaxation of 5 years in the maximum age limit for candidates of all categories, applicable to selection processes notified after that order and up to 31.12.2027. Further relaxations apply for ex-servicemen, full-time NCC instructors and candidates already serving in State Government or local authority posts, each measured against years served and capped by the notification.

Application Fee

Rs. 200 for candidates belonging to General Merit and Categories 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B. Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Category-1, and candidates with disabilities, are exempt from the fee. The fee must be paid online only, through the link on the court website, using Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card or UPI. Payment by challan, demand draft or postal order is not accepted.
