Eligibility

Must have passed SSLC or an equivalent examination. Must be able to read and write Kannada. SSLC or equivalent means the qualifications and courses specified in Karnataka Government Circular No. DPAR 81 SCR 2011 dated 27.02.2018. Candidates claiming reservation must hold a valid certificate issued by the competent authority on or before the last date for submission of applications.

Age Limit

Minimum 18 years. Maximum age as on the last date to apply: General Merit 35 years; Category 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B 38 years; SC, ST and Category-1 40 years. A one-time relaxation of 5 years in the maximum age limit is granted to candidates of all categories participating in this selection, as per Government Order No. DPAR 262 SNN 2025 dated 29.01.2026. Further relaxation as per rules applies to in-service government employees, widows, ex-servicemen of the Armed Forces (Navy, Army, Air Force) and persons with disabilities.

Application Fee

General Merit: Rs.800. Category 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B: Rs.150. Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Category-1 and physically disabled candidates: exempted from fee. Fee is payable ONLY online through State Bank Collect (SBI) via Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card or UPI, using the link on the court website. Cash, challan, demand draft, postal order and money order are not accepted. Applications without fee payment will be rejected and the fee once paid is non-refundable.

How to Apply

Applications are accepted ONLY online through the link provided on the Chikkamagaluru District Court website, from 29.06.2026 to 28.07.2026 up to 11:59 PM. Read all instructions before filling the form; incomplete or incorrect applications will be rejected. Submit a single application covering all categories you claim reservation under. A mobile number is mandatory. Upload a recent colour photograph (5 cm x 3.6 cm, white background, JPG) and signature as specified. Selection: candidates are shortlisted in a 1:10 ratio (10 candidates per post) on the basis of total percentage marks obtained in the qualifying examination, and are then called for an interview. Final selection is on the basis of interview marks; the interview carries 10 marks. There is no written examination. Selected candidates are on probation for 2 years under the Karnataka Civil Services (Probation) Rules, 1977.
