Vacancies

24 posts in total. Stenographer Grade-III: 10 posts (7 fresh + 3 backlog). Typist: 14 posts (13 fresh + 1 backlog). The posts are spread across the various courts of the Tumakuru unit and are filled by direct recruitment. Backlog posts in both cadres are reserved under Blindness and Low Vision. The notification states that the number and classification of posts may change without prior notice.

Eligibility

Both posts: a pass in the Second PUC examination, or a 3-year Diploma in Commercial Practice, or an equivalent qualification. Typist additionally requires a pass in the Senior Grade Kannada and English typewriting examinations conducted by the Department of Public Instruction, or an equivalent. Stenographer Grade-III additionally requires a pass in Senior Grade Kannada and English typewriting and Senior Grade shorthand, or an equivalent. Where the Class 12 result is reported as a grade, candidates must obtain a marks statement converting it to marks from the competent authority before the last date to apply. Selection is by skill test and interview under the Karnataka Subordinate Courts (Ministerial and Other Posts) (Recruitment) Rules: 100 marks for each of the Kannada and English skill tests with 50 marks needed to pass in each, candidates called for interview in a 1:5 ratio on the combined percentage, and 5 marks for the interview. Selected candidates serve a 2-year probation period and must pass the departmental, Kannada language and computer literacy examinations during it.

Age Limit

Calculated as on the last date for submitting applications. Minimum 18 years. Maximum 35 years for General Merit candidates, 38 years for Category 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B, and 40 years for SC, ST and Category-1. A one-time relaxation of 5 years in the maximum age is allowed to candidates of all categories per Government Order CASUE 262 SENENI 2025 dated 29.01.2026. Further relaxation applies to serving government employees, widows, ex-servicemen and persons with disabilities under the Karnataka Civil Services (General Recruitment) Rules, 1977.

Application Fee

Rs. 200/- for General Merit and Category 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B candidates. SC, ST, Category-1 and candidates with disabilities are exempt from the fee. Payment is only through the State Bank of India State Bank Collect link on the court website, by net banking, credit card, debit card, UPI ID or QR code. Demand drafts, postal orders, money orders and challans are not accepted. Candidates must e-verify immediately after paying; applications without the prescribed fee are rejected.
