Job Summary

Position: Graduate Apprentice and Technician Apprentice (nine departments)

Eligibility

The apprenticeship runs for twelve months under the Apprentices Act, 1961, and is open to eligible Indian nationals. Required stream by department: Computer Science and Engineering – Bachelor/BE/B.Tech or Diploma in CSE or IT. Electronics and Communication Engineering – Bachelor/BE/B.Tech or Diploma in ECE, Telecommunications or Instrumentation. Mechatronics and Automation Engineering – Bachelor/BE/B.Tech or Diploma in Mechatronics, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. Mathematics and Computing – Bachelor/BE/B.Tech or Diploma in Mathematics and Computing, CSE or IT. Library – Bachelor of Library and Information Science. Finance and Accounts – Bachelor of Commerce. Computer Centre / Website Management – Bachelor of Computer Applications. Administration – Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Business Administration. Store and Purchase – Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Business Administration. The gap between the last date of application and the passing date of the qualifying degree or diploma must not exceed two years. Applicants who have already registered for, undergone or are undergoing apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act elsewhere are not eligible. The notification states that apprentices have no right to claim employment at IIIT Bhagalpur on completion of training.

Age Limit

Minimum 18 years and maximum 25 years as on 9 September 2026, which is also the cut-off date for qualification. Upper age relaxation applies as per Government of India guidelines for SC, ST, OBC and PwBD candidates. OBC candidates claiming age relaxation must produce an OBC Non-Creamy Layer certificate issued after 01.04.2026.

Candidates must first be registered on the NATS 2.0 portal and then apply against this advertisement at https://nats.education.gov.in/student_type.php. The notification states that no other mode of application will be accepted. Candidates claiming age relaxation should upload the necessary SC, ST, OBC-NCL or EWS certificates with the online form and produce the originals at document verification.
