2 posts in total under the project ‘BT/BMH0146/BMI/Bio-AI-09/25 – Bio-Enablers: Bio-Artificial Intelligence Hubs under the DBT-BIRAC Biomanufacturing initiative’: Research Associate – 1 post; Junior Research Fellow – 1 post. The engagement is for a period of two years. The grant covers development of a protein vaccine within 18 months as a prototype under the hub, alongside work on AI and machine-learning enabled design of biologics, in an interdisciplinary team drawn from ACTREC and MEDVOLT AI.

Eligibility

Research Associate: a PhD in Biochemistry, Biophysics or Structural Biology with extensive experience in enzymology, and a minimum of two years’ experience in molecular cloning; recombinant protein purification from a bacterial expression system; biophysical tools for protein characterisation including circular dichroism, thermal shift assay (dye and tryptophan fluorescence-based methods) and dynamic light scattering; and protein small-molecule or peptide binding assays including fluorescence polarization, microscale thermophoresis, SPR or BLI (Octet). The work covers cloning, protein expression, purification and enzyme characterisation including biophysical properties, structure analysis and generating protein crystals, in close association with the AI team. Junior Research Fellow: a Master’s degree in life science or an M.Tech. The candidate must be experienced in cloning, protein expression, optimization, scaling up and purification using a variety of chromatographic methods, SDS-PAGE analysis and performing enzyme activity assays. For both posts, work progress is monitored and extension depends on satisfactory progress; for the Junior Research Fellow, extension may be given after six months.

Age Limit

Research Associate: 40 years. Junior Research Fellow: 35 years.
